The Manual Vulnerability Assessment Tool displays for users of a computer not supported by Trend Micro Vulnerability Assessment. When the application cannot assess the computer�s vulnerabilities, it sends the browser to a certain URL where the user can manually assess the computer for vulnerabilities.
To perform a manual assessment:
Click Start Vulnerability Assessment to run an assessment task on the local machine. The assessment progress bar appears displaying the name of the target machine and the status of the task. Click Stop if you wish to interrupt the task.
When you click Start Vulnerability Assessment, ActiveX controls deploy to your computer to perform the assessment. You must have the Security Settings in your browser set to medium for Internet and Medium-low for local intranet (the default settings for Internet Explorer 6) for ActiveX controls to download. Please refer to Internet Explorer help for more information about setting your browser security level.
When the task is complete, it displays the result of the assessment and lists the names of the vulnerabilities it found.
