Vulnerability assessment is the first of four phases in the Enterprise Protection Strategy. Trend Micro Control Manager (TMCM) must be installed on your system.
Note: The Standard Edition of TMCM is available at no charge with any other Trend Micro product. An Enterprise Edition is also available for organizations that require a multi-tier management structure and reporting capabilities.
TMCM scans your system for vulnerabilities, using the vulnerability assessment pattern (VAP) file, which searches your registry and other system files for evidence that critical Windows patches and hot fixes have been applied. If patches or hot fixes are missing, TMCM generates reports of vulnerabilities found, enabling you to take proactive steps to close these security gaps before damage occurs.
