Creating a Customized Log Query

Use this screen to create customized log queries.

To create a customized log query:

  1. In Logs format, select what log information the query will display; the two available options are: View details and View summary data. The default value is View summary data.

When selecting this option, you can only modify the Issued task(s) date:, Task name:, and Logs per page: fields.

  1. In Issued task(s) date, specify logs by selecting the time frame when tasks ran from the drop down menu; available values are: All dates, Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days (default), Last 14 days, Last 30 days, and Specified range

For example, select Last 7 days to see logs for tasks Damage Cleanup Services performed during the previous week.

If you selected Specified range, select a start and end date from the drop down menus under Start date and End date.

  1. In Task name, specify logs by selecting a task from the drop down menu; default values are: All tasks, Network VirusWall 1200, Manual Damage Cleanup Task , and Outbreak Prevention Services.

  2. In Result, specify logs by selecting a task result from the drop down menu; choose one of the following:

  1. In Domain name(s), specify logs by typing one or more valid Windows domain names (Fully Qualified Domain Names are not valid); for example, Domain1;Domain2. You must type the complete name.

  2. In Machine name(s), specify logs by typing one or more valid Windows NetBIOS machine names; for example, Machine1;Machine2. You must type the complete name.

  3. In Virus name(s), specify logs by typing one or more malware names; for example, Nimda;BugBear. You may truncate the virus name to specify the log, for example, you may type 'Nim' or 'Nimda' to specify the log for the Nimda virus.

  4. In Damage cleanup template number, specify logs by selecting the Damage cleanup template number; the default value is All templates. The damage cleanup template includes the database for all malware (worms, trojans, and backdoors) works with the damage cleanup engine.

  5. In Damage cleanup engine number, specify logs by selecting the Damage cleanup engine; the default value is All versions. The damage cleanup engine removes unwanted registry entries created by worms or Trojans, and memory resident worms or Trojans. The engine can also repair a system file configuration such as "system.ini" after it has been altered or infected by malicious code.

  6. In Logs per page, type the number of logs that will appear per page. This applies when selecting View details in step 1, and also affects the number of logs that appear on the Task Details page.

  7. Click Query to perform the query. Alternatively, click Back, to return to Damage cleanup History. To reset this form, click Reset.
