Configure Event Center settings

Use the Event Center Settings screen to configure settings used by the selected notification method.

To configure notification method settings:

  1. Mouseover Administration on the main menu. A drop-down menu appears.

  2. Mouseover Settings from the drop-down list. A sub-menu appears.

  3. Click Event Center Settings. The Event Center screen appears.

  4. To set SMTP notifications:

    1. On the working area under SMTP Server Settings, type the host name and port number of the SMTP server in the fields provided. Use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) (example, proxy.company.com), or the IP address of the SMTP server.

    2. Type the Control Manager Senderemail address. Control Manager uses this address as the sender's address, which is a requirement for some SMTP servers.

  5. To set pager notifications:

    • On the working area under Pager Settings, select the appropriate COM port from the list.

  6. To set SNMP trap notifications:

    1. On the working area under SNMP Trap Settings, specify the Community name.

    2. Specify the SNMP trap server IP address.

  7. To set Syslog settings:

    1. On the working area under SysLog Settings, specify the SysLog server IP address.

    2. Specify the SysLog Server Port.

    3. Specify a Facility for your Syslogs.

  8. To set Trigger Application settings:

    1. On the working area under Trigger Application Settings, select Use a specified user to trigger the application.

    2. The specified user must be a Windows user.

    3. Specify the User name and Password of the user.

  9. To set MSN Messenger notifications:

    1. On the working area under MSN notification, specify the MSN Messenger email address. This is the user name used in MSN Messenger.

    2. Type the .Net Passport email address password.

    3. If you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, select Use a proxy server  to connect to MSN server:

    1. Specify the proxy server hostname and port.

    2. Select the proxy server protocol—SOCKS 4 or SOCKS 5.

    3. Type the Login name and password used for proxy authentication.

  10. Click Save.
