Use the Agent Heartbeat Settings screen to set the heartbeat settings.
The Agent Heartbeat Settings
only apply to MCP agents for managed products directly controlled by the
Control Manager server. Child Control Manager server Communicators use
predefined values:
Frequency: Reports managed product status every 3 minutes
Maximum delay: If there is no communication, set managed product
status as abnormal after 5 minutes
To set the heartbeat Frequency and Maximum delay times:
Mouseover Administrator on the main menu. A drop-down list appears.
Mouseover Settings. A sub-menu appears.
Click Heartbeat Settings from the sub-menu. The Heartbeat Settings screen appears.
On the working area, leave the default values or specify new settings for the following:
Report managed product status every: Defines how often the managed product responds to Control Manager server messages. The permitted values are between 5 to 480 minutes
If
no communication, set status as abnormal after: specifies how long
Control Manager waits for a response from the managed product before changing
its management console status to (abnormal). The allowable
values are between 15 to 1440 minutes.
The If no communication, set status as abnormal after value must be at least triple the Report managed product status every value.
Click Save.
