
Modify the CastoolConfiguration.xml parameters to adjust the network, query, and restart service time-out values.
Use care when modifying Control
Manager *.xml or
*.cfg files.
To ensure that you can roll back to the original settings, backup CastoolConfiguration.xml.
To modify CastoolConfiguration.xml:
Open <root>\Program Files\Trend Micro\Control Manager\CastoolConfiguration.xml using a text editor (for example, Notepad.exe).
Adjust the values for the following parameters:
NetworkTimeOut — indicates the timeout followed whenever CasTool downloads the public key from the parent server
Minimum allowable value: 10 seconds
Maximum allowable value: 300 seconds
QueryTimeOut — indicates the timeout followed whenever CasTool queries the child or parent server
Minimum allowable value: 75 seconds
Maximum allowable value: 300 seconds
RestartServiceTimeOut — indicates the timeout followed whenever CasTool restarts the Control Manager services for the child server
Minimum allowable value: 150 seconds
Maximum allowable value: 300 seconds
The Control Manager services, found in Windows Services panel, have a default restart time-out value of 3 minutes (180 seconds).
Save and close CastoolConfiguration.xml.
