Installation ======================================================================== Note: If you are upgrading from version 3.0 to Service Pack 1, you must upgrade both the Trend Micro Anti-Spyware server and all Anti-Spyware clients. If both components are not updated to the same version, you will not be able to continue to receive new pattern file updates. Note: If you are upgrading from version 3.0 to Service Pack 1, the included third party software will not be updated. To update the these products also, perform a manual update of each application, or remove Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition 3.0 and reinstall Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition 3.0 SP1. Trend Micro recommends using the latest versions of all third party software. For complete instructions on how to install Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition, please see the Administrator's Guide. To install Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition, run the Setup program in the Anti-Spyware directory of the installation CD, or extract the files from the compressed file and run Setup. The setup program will guide you through the process of installing Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition. 6. Post-Installation Configuration ======================================================================== Trend Micro recommends that you update your spyware pattern files immediately after installing the product. See the Note, above. 7. Firewall configuration ======================================================================== If a firewall is present in the intranet, configure it to allow network access to the following executables: On the server - tmassa.exe - reminst.exe On the client - tmasca.exe - tmasea.exe - imclntinst.exe - ssapi32.dll - cwshredder.dll If you have installed the client software on the server, configure your firewall to allow network access for all of the above executables. For computers running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2003 Server Service Pack 1, the internal firewall must be disabled or configured to allow connections required by Trend Micro Anti-Spyware. To configure the firewall, add the web server port (default 8088), NetBIOS ports (137, 138, 139, 445), and socket mode using port (default 54447, 54448,54449) to your firewall exceptions. Consult your Windows help file for more information. 8. Pattern updates ======================================================================== The Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition installation program comes packaged with a spyware pattern file. Because new spyware threats are constantly being added to the pattern file, Trend Micro recommends updating this file as soon as you have installed the Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition software. 9. Known Issues ======================================================================== 9.1 Authentication proxy --------------------------------------------------------------------- A. In this release of Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition it is possible to save an empty value for the authentication proxy, which will cause an error. Avoid this by entering a valid user name and password for the proxy you are using. B. If your proxy server is configured to prevent the Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition server from connecting to itself to verify the proxy settings, deselect Validate settings before saving when configuring proxy settings. 9.2 Date format --------------------------------------------------------------------- This release of Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition supports the display of dates and times according to current system format of dates and times, but it can not be changed in Windows 2000 series when the system format of dates and times is changed. 9.3 PHP support --------------------------------------------------------------------- This release of Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition installs PHP on the Enterprise server. If you install PHP on the server after installing Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition, or if you manually update or modify the PHP installation, you will need to re-install the Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition software. 9.4 Local drive scanning --------------------------------------------------------------------- This release of Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition only supports scanning of local hard drives. Network drives, CDs, and other storage devices are not scanned. 9.5 Web console --------------------------------------------------------------------- Occasionally, after a lengthy time-out, the Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition Web console may become blank. This issue can be fixed by refreshing the Web browser. 9.6 Limitation for long paths and long descriptions --------------------------------------------------------------------- Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition only shows 256-byte characters of long paths and descriptions. It will truncate the additional characters. 9.7 System limitation for internationalization --------------------------------------------------------------------- a. The domain Name and Server/Client computer name must use English or the same language as the Server location. b. The server's installed directory name must use English or the same language as the Server location. 10.
