Previously Encrypted Device Recognition Parent topic

If a device has already been encrypted while attached to a device with a SecureCloud Agent, users may clone or move that device to another SecureCloud Agent without needing to import the encryption key. SecureCloud is capable of automatically detecting that the device moved from another device with a SecureCloud Agent whether the original device is online or offline. Users may also clone encrypted devices on the same SecureCloud Agent without having to request new encryption keys, and if a user detaches a device from a SecureCloud Agent and reattaches it, SecureCloud will continue to recognize the encryption key for that device.
This feature has the following limitations:
  • SecureCloud can only recognize devices encrypted on a SecureCloud Agent of version 3.5 or later. For devices encrypted on earlier versions of SecureCloud Agent, the user must import the device key for that device.
  • SecureCloud can only recognize devices that are moved or cloned on the same account.
  • SecureCloud cannot recognize moved or cloned RAID devices.
