Outbreak Alert Notifications

This alert occurs whenever PortalProtect detects a virus outbreak. You can configure the notification settings according to the following:

To configure administrator notification:
  1. Select the Mail checkbox to enable this notification.

  2. In the To field, accept the default email address(es) or enter a new one. You can enter additional email addresses by separating them with a semicolon.

  3. In the Subject field—type a subject that will appear in the subject line of the email (for example: Outbreak Alert - Virus Outbreak).

  4. In the Message fields—you can create a unique message using variables like: [Server Name], [Date], [Time], [Condition Triggered], and [Triggered Condition Information].

  5. Note: The available variables appear in the left window, and the message body in the right window.

To configure advanced notification:
  1. Select SNMP to enable this option.

  2. Configure the following options:

  1. Select Write to Windows event log to write each notification to the Windows event log.

  2. Click Save.
