Configuring Outbreak Notifications

Notifications > Administrator Notifications > Outbreak Notifications > Shared Folder Session link

You can configure OfficeScan to notify you and other OfficeScan administrators of security risk outbreaks on your network. In this screen, you need to define the outbreak criteria based on the number of security risk detections and the detection period, and then configure OfficeScan to send notification messages through the following:

Responding to an outbreak is very critical. Unless you take corrective action, an outbreak can spread quickly throughout and beyond your network.

To configure outbreak notifications:

  1. In the Criteria tab, specify the number of detections and detection period for each security risk.

  1. In the Email, Pager, SNMP Trap, and NT Event Log tabs:

  1. Enable notifications for virus/malware and spyware/grayware detections.

  2. Note: OfficeScan only reports firewall violation and shared folder session outbreaks through email.

  1. For email notifications, specify the email recipients and accept or modify the default email subject.

  2. For email notifications, optionally select additional virus/malware and spyware/grayware information to include in the email, for example, client/domain name, security risk name, date and time of detection, path and infected file, and result.

  3. Accept or modify the default notification messages.

  4. Note: Use only token variables to represent data in the Message field. The Subject field does not accept token variables.

  1. Click Save.
