Device_control_exceptions
OfficeScan provides a device control feature that regulates application access from external storage devices and network resources connected to computers. This applies to USB and network drives control policies but not Autorun policy. Use this exception list to ensure access to programs shared by groups of people or to edit documents from storage drives.
There are two types of exceptions:
Device Access List: Applications in this list are exempt from Device Control policies and have full access to external storage devices and network resources.
External Programs List: Applications in this list can be run from external storage devices.
To add application exceptions: >>>
Networked Computers > Client Management > Settings > Device Control
Select either Device Access List or External Programs List.
Type the full path of the program. The maximum number of entries is 100. However, you can add up to 1,000 entries in the .ini file.
Use wildcards (* ?) as a substitute for drive letters or file names.
Click Add.
If you selected domain(s) or client(s) on the client tree, click Save to apply settings to the domain(s) or client(s). If you selected the root icon, choose from the following options:
Apply to All Clients: Applies settings to all existing clients and to any new client added to an existing/future domain. Future domains are domains not yet created at the time you configure the settings.
Apply to Future Domains Only: Applies settings only to clients added to future domains. This option will not apply settings to new clients added to an existing domain.
