Policy Enforcement > Add Policy (Step 1: Specify Endpoint Settings)
A brief description of the options on this screen is available below.
Policy name—specify the policy name.
Comment—type optional comments.
No agent—Network VirusWall Enforcer does not install an agent on the endpoint. This agent deployment method is recommended for organizations with unsupported platforms. With this deployment, only Network Virus Scanning is supported.
Single-use agent—this method installs an agent for assessment and stops the agent service after the assessment is completed. Unless the agent is outdated, Network VirusWall Enforcer will reuse the same agent to perform an assessment on the same endpoint.
Persistent Agent—Network VirusWall Enforcer deploys an agent that remains on the endpoint. With this deployment, the agent can perform periodic assessment and handle threat mitigation requests. This option is selected by default.
Endpoint installation method—select to install by ActiveX (default) or Remote login, ActiveX.
Disable endpoint assessment for non-Windows operating systems—this option disables endpoint detection for non-Windows operating systems.
Disable endpoint assessment for unidentifiable operating systems—this option disables endpoint detection for endpoints where the operating system is unknown.
Reassess compliant endpoints after—specify the time to reassess compliant endpoints. The default setting is 1 day. Select a time that is at least 15 minutes and no more than 10 days, 240 hours, or 14400 minutes.
Reassess noncompliant endpoints after—specify the time to reassess noncompliant endpoints. The default setting is 15 minutes. Select a time that is at least 5 minutes and no more than 10 days, 240 hours, or 14400 minutes.
