Administration > Access Control
This screen lets you regulate access to the Preconfiguration console and the web console. A brief description of the options on this screen is available below.
SSH Console—select whether to allow SSH access to the Preconfiguration console. If SSH console access is enabled, remote users are able to access the console using an SSH client like PuTTY.
IP Address Access Restriction—restrict access to the web console to specific IP addresses. All attempts to access the web console from IP addresses that are not on the access control list will be blocked.
Note: You can add up to 20 IP addresses to the access control list. In general, the web console allows up to 10 concurrent HTTP connections and 10 concurrent HTTPS connections.
IP address—specify an IPv4 or IPv6 address to add to the list.
Comment—provide an optional comment describing the IP specified address. You can provide up to 15 alphanumeric characters and underscores (_) with no spaces.
Add to—adds the specified IP address to the list. With access restriction enabled, only these IP addresses are allowed to access the web console.
Delete () icon—click to delete an IP address from the list.
Custom Message—when this option enabled, a custom message will be displayed on the web console logon screen.
Click Save to ensure that your changes are not lost.
Warning: When you enable IP address access restriction, you will be logged off from the web console and will need to log on again. In case you did not add your current IP address to the access control list, you will be prevented from accessing the web console and from logging on.
