Transparent Identification: Add/Edit

Enabling the Domain Controller query allows IWSVA to receive the event logs for the domain controllers in the list and to parse it for user information. When first enabled, users receive a prompt to add the Domain Controller server(s) or to refresh the list of Domain Controller servers.

If new Domain Controller servers are not auto-detected, they can be added manually by clicking Add and adding the Domain Controller information in a secondary window. After adding information, click Test Remote Query to verify the Domain Controller server connection. Entries can also be edited.

All Domain Controller servers added in the configuration file can have IWSVA query the event logs for username and IP address information.

To add a Domain Controller manually:

  1. Go to Administration > IWSVA Configuration > User Identification | User Identification, scroll down to the Transparent Identification section, and enable the Domain Controller query.

  2. Note: This feature is only available if you select the User/group name authorization as the User Identification Method at Administration > IWSVA Configuration > User Identification | User Identification.

  1. Click Add below the Enable Domain Controller query check box.

  2. Type the Domain Controller server host name in the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) format: For example: server1.us.trendnet.org

  3. Type any username and password needed to access the Domain Controller server.

  4. Click Test Remote Query to verify the connection.

  5. Click Save.
