Spyware Summary

The following provides a brief description of this screen:

• Turn On/Off HTTP(S) Traffic | FTP Traffic—Toggle these settings to enable or disable the flow of the HTTP(S) and/or FTP traffic across the LAN.

• Caution: When disabled, HTTP(S) and FTP traffic will not be scanned. All traffic will be stopped at the gateway.  

• Threat Resources—This feature allows you to quickly access popular statistics and information from Trend Micro with the following options:

• Trend Micro Threat Resource Center

• TrendTracker

• Malware and Spam Map

• Virus Encyclopedia

• You can also view the following reports in this screen:

• Top 5 Detected Spyware (last 7 days)—Click Add to exception list to include the name of the spyware to the exception list (/etc/iscan/spywareExceptionList.ini). After being added, you can only manually remove a spyware from the list.

• Top 5 Spyware Risk (last 7 days)

• Note: Click the "More ..." link to display the corresponding log query screen.

• Scanning results for—This option refers to the malware detected by Additional Threats scanning (HTTP > HTTP Malware Scan > Policies > Add | [policy name]> Spyware/Grayware Scan Rule). The category might include: Spyware, Adware, Dialers, Joke programs, Hacking tools, Remote access tools, Password cracking applications, and miscellaneous Others.

Select a time period and click Refresh in the upper right corner of the table.

• Cleanup results for—This option refers to malware detected in conjunction with Trend Micro Damage Cleanup Services (optionally available).

Select the time period you want to view and click Refresh in the upper right corner of the table to display the activity logs.
