Redirect Clients to DCS When InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance is using HTTPS

Administration > IWSVA Configuration > Register to DCS

If you have configured the InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) console to use a HTTPS rather than HTTP connection (recommended), and want to use IWSVA with Damage Cleanup Services (DCS),  you need to take the configuration steps below for client redirection to work properly. MORE>>

If DCS is unable to contact or repair the affected system(s), you can have it report back to InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance, which can then restrict Internet access by redirecting the client's browser to a manual ActiveX DCS clean-up page.

Edit the IWSVA configuration file:

  1. Open for editing the following file:

/etc/iscan/intscan.ini

  1. Under the [http] section, locate the following parameters:

iscan_web_server=

iscan_web_protocol=

  1. Specify the port (typically 8443 for https) and the protocol (https). You don't need to specify an IP address.

Add the IWSVA HTTPS port to the Internet Access Control Settings

  1. From the main IWSVA menu, click HTTP > Configuration > Internet Access Control |  HTTPS Ports tab.

  2. In the Action field, select Allow.

  3. In the Port field, enter the port used for HTTPS connections, typically 8443.

  4. Note: Place the DCS server and test client on the same side of the data interface when IWSVA works in Transparent Bridge mode or Proxy mode. Otherwise, DCS server cannot provide the clean up service.
