About Notifications

You can have IWSVA automatically notify the administrator (or designated others) whenever it detects an Internet threat or policy violation in a user-requested file or URL. The requesting client can be notified through a Web browser.

You can have IWSVA send an automatic email notification for the following events:

Administrator and/or Client Notifications

• HTTPS access denied

• HTTPS certificate error

• HTTP/HTTPS scanning

• HTTP/HTTPS blocked file type

• URL blocking

• FTP scanning

• FTP blocked file type

• High Availability events

• Applet and ActiveX instrumentation

User notifications occur in real-time through Web browser or FTP prompt, whereas IWSVA sends notifications to the administrator through the email address specified in Notifications > Send notification to... (in the upper right corner).

Administrator Only

• Data file update status

• Scan engine

• Virus pattern file (PhishTrap, spyware detection)

• URL Filtering engine

• Daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports in CSV or PDF format

• Product licensing and registration reminders

• URL Filtering by Time Quota time extension

• Threshold Alert
