IWSVA supports scanning of FTP file transfers conducted through a Web browser, for example, when the URL of an FTP site is specified in the Web browser's Address field. These transfers are scanned according to the preferences specified for HTTP Scanning (rather than for FTP scanning), including the Actions and Notifications.

Depending on how it was set up, the IWSVA FTP Scanning service applies to FTP transfers conducted from an FTP client such as WS-FTP or from a Windows command line.
