A license to the Trend Micro software usually includes the right to product updates, pattern file updates, and basic technical support ("Maintenance”) for one (1) year from the date of purchase. After the first year, Maintenance must be renewed on an annual basis according to Trend Micro’s Maintenance Fee pricing.
A Maintenance Agreement is a contract between your organization and Trend Micro, regarding your right to receive technical support and product updates in consideration for the payment of applicable fees. When you purchase a Trend Micro product, the License Agreement you receive with the product describes the terms of the Maintenance Agreement. The Maintenance Agreement might expire but your License Agreement does not.
Note: If the Maintenance Agreement expires, your system continues scanning, but you will not be able to update the virus pattern files, the scan engine, or the program files (even manually), nor will you be entitled to receive technical support from Trend Micro.
Typically, ninety (90) days before the Maintenance Agreement expires, you will start to receive email notifications, alerting you of the upcoming discontinuation. You can update your Maintenance Agreement by purchasing renewal maintenance from your reseller, Trend Micro sales, or at the Trend Micro Online Registration URL:
