Defining Network Agent Policy Channels Parent topic

  1. On the Add Policy: Step 2: Channel screen, select the channels for DLP to monitor.

    For performance tuning, define policy rules only for channels that you need to filter.
    The channels below have additional specifications to consider:

    Email
    • Click the Email Clients down arrow to display the Non-monitored domain names box.
    • Type email domain names. Separate the names with commas. For example, admin@yahoo.com,admin@gmail.com.

    The network agent supports non-monitored email domain names for SMTP.
    FTP
    • Click the FTP down arrow to display the Non-monitored domain names or IP addresses box.
    • Type the approved Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) or IP addresses. Separate multiple entries with commas. For example, www.example.com,192.168.2.1/10.

    The network agent only supports IP and FQDN for the FTP and HTTP approved list, not a host name via NetBIOS.
    HTTP
    • Click the HTTP down arrow to display the Non-monitored domain names or IP addresses box.
    • Type the approved FQDN or IP addresses. Separate multiple entries with a comma. For example, www.example.com,192.168.2.1/10.
    Instant Messengers
    Click the IM Applications down arrow to view the filtered IM channels.
    SMB
    Select SMB Protocol to monitor SMB traffic. The network agent does not support Monitored and Non-monitored lists.
    Web mail
    Click the Webmail down arrow to view the filtered web mail channels.
  2. Click Next.
    The Add Policy Conditions screen appears.
