Accessing the Privileged CLI Mode Parent topic

The DLP CLI is secured through an industry-standard architecture using several levels of authentication and passwords. To gain access to the CLI, the administrator level account credentials are required. This can be the default “admin” account or it can be any administrator equivalent account created in the DLPserver.
After you authenticate to the CLI with an authorized administrator level account, you are placed into the nonprivileged mode of the CLI. The nonprivileged level enables you to perform basic commands.
To enter the privileged CLI mode in which administration and system level commands are executed, you must authenticate using the Enable account credentials while in the nonprivileged CLI mode. This prevents unauthorized administrators from gaining access to the critical system commands.
  1. Access the CLI from the local DLP console or through a remote SSH v2 connection.
  2. Authenticate to the nonprivileged CLI using the “admin” account and password.
  3. To see a list of available commands, type ? and press Enter.
A list of available nonprivileged commands displays.
  4. Authenticate to the privileged CLI by typing the enable command and press Enter.
  5. Type the Enable account password.
If your account and passwords were properly entered, you will be placed into the privileged CLI mode.
  6. To see a list of available privileged commands, type ? and press Enter.
A list of available privileged commands appears. This list contains more system commands than the list for the nonprivileged CLI level.
