Testing Application Control Parent topic

Use the following procedure to modify the Deep Edge Security Policy to block end-users from accessing the Google website.

Procedure

  1. Log on the Deep Edge web console.
  2. Click Policies → Rules.
  3. Click the default policy to edit it.
  4. Set the tabs as follows:
    Option Description
    Source and Users
    • Source Addresses: Any
    • User And Groups: Any
    Destination Destination Address: Any
    Traffic Type Selected → Default Application → Web category → Google check box.
    Schedule and Action
    • Schedule: Always
    • Action: Block
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Apply at the top of the Rules page.
  7. Open administrators browser and attempt to access http://www.google.com.
    If the test is successful, administrators browser will not display the Google website.
