Important Notes About Bridging Interfaces Parent topic

Select two different interfaces to form a bridge. Although all L2 and L3 interfaces can be selected, different combinations result in different behaviors:
  • If Interface 1 and Interface 2 are both L2 interfaces, the two interfaces will be added to a bridge.
IP address and netmask for the bridge is optional.
  • Any L3 interfaces used in creating a bridge will be degraded to L2 interface types.
If the L3 interface is referenced by services like NAT, DHCP, Dynamic DNS, the interface can be added into the bridge until the reference relationship is removed.
A warning message displays to inform users that certain actions may cause web console access issues, for example if an IP address is not configured for the bridge.
Note
Note
If there are other L3 interfaces with access rights to the web console in the system, then the IP address and netmask of the bridge is optional. If not, it may result in the loss of web console access for Deep Edge. Users must access the CLI to repair this condition.
