Configuring the Captive Portal Settings

The Captive Portal Sign-on page gives administrators the option of requiring all users to enter a username and password (assigned by an administrator) before accessing the network or Internet. If the UserID Agent is unable to associate a user with an IP address, a captive portal takes over and authenticates the user.

To configure the captive portal settings:

  1. Go to Policies > UserID Settings > Captive Portal.

  2. Click Browse to browse to the location of a .PNG or .GIF file of your company logo to display your Captive Portal sign on page. The image must be less than 700 x 200 pixels and 1 MB in size. Click Upload to upload the image.

  3. Add the appropriate Company Name.

  4. (Optional) Customize the Welcome Message.

  5. (Optional) Add an external HTTP link to your company website.

  6. Click Preview to display your message and verify it.

  7. Close the tab displaying the preview.

  8. Click Apply if you are satisfied or Reset to return to the default values.
