Enabling 10 Gbps Management/Data Interface for Deep Discovery Web Inspector 4200 Forward Proxy Mode Parent topic

Deep Discovery Web Inspector 4200 can support full 5 Gbps in forward proxy mode by enabling 10 Gbps management/data interface. This feature of switching proxy port to 10GbE NIC is supported by the Deep Discovery Web Inspector 4200 model only.
Use the following procedure to switch management/data port from 1 Gbps port to 10 Gbps port.

Procedure

  1. On the Deep Discovery Web Inspector 4200 device back panel, find the physical locations of the I and M interfaces by referring to the Deep Discovery Web Inspector 4200 Quick Start Card or hardware NIC labels.
  2. Using a VGA cable, connect the VGA port at the back of the device to a monitor.
  3. Connect the USB port at the back of the device to a USB keyboard.
  4. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the original 1GbE proxy port.
  5. The connection of the Deep Discovery Web Inspector 10 GbE port requires a fiber network cable instead of a twisted pair cable. Connect the 10GbE optical port I to the user’s network with a prepared optical fiber.
  6. Log on to the CLI with the default credentials:
    User name: admin
    Password: ddwi
  7. Type enable and then press Enter.
  8. Type the default password, trend#1, and then press Enter. The prompt changes from > to #.
  9. Configure proxy to 10 GbE port with the following command:
    configure proxy I
  10. After the Deep Discovery Web Inspector restarts, check if the management console is accessible and the user network traffic is normal via the 10 GbE proxy port.
    Note
    Note
    1. During the proxy port switching process, the proxy port IP address will not change, but the mac address will change to that of the 10 GbE port.
    2. If you want to restore the proxy port to 1GbE port, run this command line:
    configure proxy M
