Managed Product Communication

Control Manager uses Management Communication Protocol (MCP) agents installed on managed servers to communicate with managed products that do not register to the Control Manager server through the Control Manager management console.

An MCP agent communicates with the Control Manager server by sending a heartbeat at a regular interval to indicate that the managed product is operating normally.

Administrators can configure the Agent Communication Schedule to determine when agents send heartbeats to the Control Manager server.

Important:

Control Manager only allows you to configure the Agent Communication Schedule for managed products that register to the Control Manager server through the Control Manager management console.
