Business Email Compromise (BEC) Widgets

Business Email Compromise (BEC) widgets help you collect comprehensive information on BEC detections in Exchange Online. Brief descriptions of all widgets are provided on the left side, and a corresponding widget will be shown on the right side after you click each brief description.

The total number of BEC detections over the selected time period is provided to the left of "BEC Detections."

The FBI defines Business Email Compromise (BEC) as "a sophisticated scam targeting businesses working with foreign suppliers and/or businesses that regularly perform wire transfer payments." BEC scams usually exploit vulnerabilities in different email clients and make an email message look as if it is from a trusted sender from your organization or business associate.

BEC Detections Widget

This widget shows the total number of BEC detections for Exchange Online over the current and previous time periods.

Use the drop-down menu to select the time period to view.

Click the number under the current period to view logs related to the corresponding time period (last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days).

Top 5 BEC Email Recipients Widget

This widget shows the recipients that most frequently received BEC attacks through email over the current and previous time periods.

Use the drop-down menu to select the time period to view.

Click the number under Detections to view logs related to the corresponding time period (last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days).

Top 5 Writing Style Analysis Violations by Recipient Widget

This widget shows the recipients that most frequently received probable BEC attacks through email detected by writing style analysis during the selected time period.

Use the drop-down menu to select the time period to view.

Top 5 Targeted High Profile Users Widget

This widget shows the high profile users that were most frequently targeted for BEC attacks through email and detected by writing style analysis during selected time period.
