7. Known Issues

7.1. Server Known Issues

  1. When the server is installed on a Windows Server 2008 computer, the following Windows message displays:
  2. " A program can't display a message on your desktop."

This message can be ignored. The server will be installed successfully.

  3. A client that has been uninstalled from a Macintosh computer is not automatically unregistered from the server. On the Web console's client tree, the client's status is "offline".
  4. To unregister the client from the server:

    1. On the Trend Micro Security (for Mac) , click Agent Management and select the client that was uninstalled.
    2. Click Manage Agent Tree > Remove Group/Client.

  5. The server does not automatically remove inactive clients from the client tree.
  6. An inactive client has been continuously offline for an extended period of time and may have already been uninstalled from the Macintosh computer. To remove an inactive client, see the unregistration steps in the previous known issue.

  7. After upgrading the Trend Micro Security (for Mac) 1.x server to this version, administrators might encounter the following error while configuring settings on the web console if the Internet Explorer browsing history is not deleted.

    consoleerror.gif

To avoid this issue, delete the browsing history before opening the web console.

  8. If the administrator sets the agent update schedule to hourly and then the time on the Mac computer is moved back by one or several hours, an agent will miss one or several updates. For example, if the agent received the change in schedule at 5pm, the agent should run the next update 1 hour later at 6pm. If the time on the Mac computer is moved back to 4pm, the agent will run the update 2 hours later at 6pm.

7.2. Client Known Issues

  1. Trend Micro Security (for Mac) client does not support the ipfw (ipfirewall) command. When a user issues the command on the Macintosh computer to limit bandwidth usage, the computer becomes unresponsive.

  2. When a user uses proxy settings for Internet connection and then accesses a Web site that does not exist, the Trend Micro Security (for Mac) client displays a blocking page stating that the Web site is unrated.

  3. If users choose the option Set access for specific services and applications in the personal firewall for Mac OS X and then install the Trend Micro Security (for Mac) client, users need to allow connections to iCoreService when prompted by the system. iCoreService is used to register the client to the server.

  4. Apple Remote Desktop 3.6.1 is unable to deploy the agent to pure IPv6 computers because these computers always appear as offline.

  6. If agent installation is launched twice on a Mac computer using two different user names, the agent icon displays without problems when the first installation finishes. For the second installation, the icon only displays when the computer has been restarted.
